Weight Watchers Day 16 - PMS and Dieting

What I Weighed Today: 211.5 lbs. (8am)
Their Scale: 212.2 lbs.
The Weight Watchers Weight-In Results
Oh, crap. I gained 1.2 pounds. The weigh-in wasn’t so bad, but I could tell that the counselor weighing me knew to wait and see if I commented. When I didn’t say anything she simply wrote the information in my little book, we exchanged pleasantries and I left.
Dieting and PMS
I am not going to beat myself up because to only have gained 1.2 pounds the week before “Cousin Dotty” comes to town is a HUGE accomplishment for me. Historically, I am up about 5 pounds during the week Aunt Flo's monthly visit. And it’s usually because I give in to all my ravenous fantasies.

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast: Venti Starbucks ‘Skinny’ Caramel Latte, 3 prunes, 1 apple, 1 Weight Watchers Cookies ‘n Cream mini bar – 4 points
Lunch: 1 Weight Watchers Smart Ones Lasagna Florentine frozen entrée, 4 tablespoons Fat-Free Vanilla Cinnamon creamer (in 2 cups of coffee) – 7 points
Dinner: 4 El Pollo Loco wings – 16.5 points
Snack(s): 1.5 cups baby carrots, 2 cups sliced cucumbers, 25 mini pretzels, 1 medium apple, 1 fruit cup – 6 points
TOTAL POINTS: 27
Points Target: 26
Activity Points earned: 0
I know it may seem that I really indulged early this week but that was soooo controlled in comparison to what I am normally like. I had five—count ‘em—five French fries! I normally would have eaten a whole plateful. And the one pepperoni that I stole off my friend's pizza? Ordinarily I would have scarfed down the whole pizza slice.
And let's not forget the cupcake I ate the other night at the party. Normally, I would have eaten three or four. Not only were those extra cupcakes sitting next to me all night but there were several left over at the end of the night, and I walked right past them when I left. Trust me, that is NOT my usual inhale-the-cupcakes self.
PMS as a Weight Watchers Sabateur
This whole "time of the month" issue is seems to affect a lot of women. When I tried to get some of my friends to do Weight Watchers with me, a couple of them mentioned that they didn't think they could stay on the program when they were PMSing.
So apparently I’m not the only one that turns into a junk food gremlin when my period hits—no wonder they call it the curse. If my setback this week proves to be attributable to the PMS it will be a great lesson for my future in this program. I will have to completely switch my way of thinking during that time and beat my indulgence compulsions with a stick. Of course, with my compulsions, I'll have to use a pretty big stick.

Today was a really good day food-wise for me. I ate lots of veggies and fruit and I enjoyed all of it immensely.
True, once again I left work at 9 p.m. which kills my eating schedule. But I grabbed El Pollo Chicken wings (grilled) so I could get some protein in. Then I had a few pretzels and a fruit cup at around 11 p.m.
Not good to be sleeping on carbs but I was very hungry at that point. Sometimes I feel like a baby deer trying to get on its feet. I need to get past the learning curve and settle into a routine with my new eating habits. Everything I’ve read says it’s like this for everyone but if you keep pushing through you see that it works. So…I keep pushing.
