Nutrisystem Day 3 - Hungry and Angry

Nutrisystem Day 3 - Hungry and Angry

Today's Nutrisystem Tips...

* A 1,100-calorie diet will leave you ravenous and there’s no shame in supplementing the tiny Nutrisystem meals with a few healthy snacks.

And now, here are the details of my 3rd day on Nutrisystem...

What I Weighed Today: 204 lbs. (8am)

And I seem to be taking it out on everyone around me. And all because I so miss the taste of decent food that I'm in a perpetually foul and angry mood. Aside from being hungry.

I called a woman the most disgusting name to her face today in a store because she cut me off in the parking lot.  Then I found her later and explained how sorry I was and that I was on a terrible diet.  She did not forgive me.  Whatev, I tried.

I feel “funny.”  My energy seems a little low and my sleep patterns are off, but I am starting to at least settle into the flow of the diet.  I’ve read more and you are allowed to have foods outside of the Nutrisystem crap but here’s the problem:  According to my friend Sydnie as well as the message board posters, they want you to stay between 1,100 and 1,200 calories.  Everything I know about dieting says that is an extremely low amount of calories, especially on the days that a person is exercising.

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast: NS Lemon Poppyseed Muffin, ¼ cup Low-Fat Cottage Cheese, 4 cups Coffee w/8 tablespoons Fat-Free Creamer & 4 tablespoons Sugar-Free Hazelnut syrup – 270.7 calories
Lunch: NS Pasta Parmesan w/ Broccoli, 2 cups Cucumber, 1 Low-Fat String Cheese – 291.2 calories
Snack: 1 small Apple  – 55.1 calories
Dinner: NS Vegetable Lasagna with Basil Tomato Sauce, 3cups Arugula, 3 cups Romaine Lettuce, 2 tablespoons Girard’s Light Champagne Dressing, 2 tablespoons Kraft Fat-Free Ceasar Dressing , Frozen Fruit Cup – Citrus Salad – 508.4 calories
Dessert: NS Chocolate Crunch Bar – 140 calories

20 minutes – Ballroom Dance DVD (Salsa & Swing)
10 minutes of stretching

So do I throw everything I know out the window for 28 days? I’m going to try.  If what the tabloids describe as a typical day for these hot little starlets is correct, they are consuming about that much and it’s not killing them.  And I certainly have more strength of character and conviction than those little tarts.  I am a star in my own right (if only in my own bathroom when I sing in the shower.) So being a star, I owe it to everyone around me to be as hot as I possibly can! Boy, I'm really reaching for motivation.

I do want to reinvent myself.  The first 141 pounds I lost was 7 years ago and pretty shocking to everyone. Now I want to get down where people say those words I’ve longed to hear since high school: “Are you sure you want to lose any more?”  No one has EVER asked me that.  I’ve never been small enough.  That is what happens when you spend most of your life being super-morbidly obese.

Product Reviews:
* NS Lemon Poppyseed Muffin – 160 calories
MEH. Flavorful but dry little muffin tops.  Drowned them in water and got them down.  They were filling (more so because of the water).  They’re not that bad even with a slightly musky aftertaste.  Just shocking to my senses to eat something that completely depends on a liquid source to be edible.  Even dry cereal can manage to be delicious without milk.
* NS Pasta Parmesan w/ Broccoli – 150 calories
WTF? This tasted like snot.  Absolutely disgusting. Should have known this was going to suck when I saw it was freeze-dried.  The “broccoli” was a green flavorless powder floating through this flavorless, torturous entrée.  I was literally nauseous for about 20 minutes after eating it.
* NS Vegetable Lasagna with Basil Tomato Sauce – 220 calories
MEH. Not bad but I can’t co-sign on beans (YES B-E-A-N-S) in lasagna.  It was strange but there weren’t enough in the dish to ruin it.  After the other treachery I have survived so far, I have to give credit where it’s due and state that not only was this good but I would eat it again. Good thing since I see that I ordered 2 of these.
* NS Chocolate Crunch Bar – 140 calories
YUM! This literally was a “Crunch” Bar.  Like the ones you buy in the store.  I think they modified the size and possibly the fat content but it tasted pretty close to the original to me.  I’m going to save my other bar for PMS week.  It was really good.
