Nutrisystem Day 22 - PMS

Nutrisystem Day 22 - PMS

Today's Nutrisystem Tips:

* It takes 30 days to make something a habit.

* Standing directly next to a supermodel will quickly renew your diet motivation.

And now, here are the details of my 22nd day on NS...

What I Weighed Today: 200 lbs. (8am)

Last night’s dose of celebrity skin made it really easy to stick to my diet today.  Not to mention that I have moved from PRE-Cuzzin Dotty to FULL ON-Cuzzin Dotty. For me, that means that my appetite has gone from ravenous to almost non-existent.  I’m just bloated and in a good deal of pain.

If someone said, “You can eat whatever you desire today or you can lay in bed all day with a hot water bottle,” believe it or not I would be spooning the hot water bottle and happy to do so. I am not good with discomfort. I'm sure glad I had a mother who forced me to work through pain and sickness because if I hadn’t developed my limited grasp on that habit early in life, I would be one of those people who gets fired every 6 months. I can’t promise that when I show up for work in this state that everything will get done with the greatest efficiency, but at least I'll get it done. And that puts me ahead of the large percentage of the people I’ve worked with and for.

What I Ate Today:
Breakfast: NS Lemon Poppyseed Muffin, 5 cups Coffee w/8 tablespoons Fat-Free Creamer, 4 teaspoons Powdered Creamer & 4 tablespoons Sugar-Free Vanilla syrup, 1 apple – 285.1 calories
Lunch: NS Vegetable Beef Soup, 3 cups Baby Carrots  – 235 calories
Snack: 2 oz. Low-Fat String Cheese – 140 calories
Dinner: NS Beef Pot Roast with Vegetables & Gravy, 2 oz. Low-Fat String Cheese  – 410 calories
Dessert: NS Mint Chocolate Crunch Bar  – 140 calories

I realize that you are probably thinking that my tendency not to be as productive when I am uncomfortable could totally be applied to my inability to stick to a diet and you’re right.  As soon as it gets hard I’m usually over it.  I am more determined this time around however.  Also, my new strategy of committing to dieting, but only committing to any one diet plan for 28 days, has made it more tolerable for me. It may sound crazy, but the thought I don't have to stick to this or any diet plan for more than 28 days makes it much easier to stick with. Yes, I'll still have to diet next month (after a week-long dieting vacation of just eating fairly responsibly) but when I do it will be a completely different experience than the one that I'm living now.

“Stay with the beast that you know” used to be my motto.  The beast I knew was my 200-pound ass and before that it was my 341-pound ass.  Honestly, the new beast is not going to be my 150-pound ass -- it’s going to be the journey there and the fight to stay there.

Product Reviews:
* NS Lemon Poppyseed Muffin  – 150 calories
WTF? Thank God this is the last of these.
* NS Vegetable Beef Soup  – 160 calories
MEH. Last of this crap too.
* NS Beef Pot Roast with Vegetables & Gravy  – 270 calories
YUM! Salty, filling, comforting.  All good.
* NS Mint Chocolate Crunch Bar  – 140 calories
YUM! This is still good, but it left a waxy film in my mouth again. Weird but not a deal breaker.
