Thinking of Ordering Jenny Craig? To be an educated consumer, we suggest you read the Jenny Craig Fine Print first. And always remember that the real cost of Jenny Craig is its food prices, not its monthly fees.

Here are a few things you should know:

Cost:  According to Jenny Craig, since meal plans and calorie counts are personalized, price differs. Basically this means that the amount that you'll pay varies each month, depending on which Jenny Craig meals and snacks you choose (the meals are different prices).

Expect to pay anywhere between $550-$725/month in Jenny Craig food, $50-60 in shipping for a two week supply (the food comes via FedEx on dry ice) and a one-time $99 set-up fee and/or $40 monthly membership charge (this varies greatly month to month depending on Jenny promotions and the specific Jenny plan that you choose.)  ASK YOUR PHONE CONSULTANT HOW TO REDUCE THESE FEES BEFORE YOU AGREE TO SIGN UP.

You can avoid the issue of shipping fees if you order your food and pick it up at a Jenny Craig Center (appointments necessary).

One thing customers may not realize when ordering a plan is that they’ll still need to buy fruit, vegetables, dairy products, and salads at their local market.

Jenny Craig Cancellation Policy for 2013:

You have three business days to cancel “without penalty or obligation.” After the three days, all fees paid for membership are non-refundable. In order to cancel, a signed and dated notice must be mailed or delivered to Jenny Craig Operations Inc. in Carlsbad, CA. A popular complaint among Jenny Craig users who have cancelled their programs is that refunds take longer than the 10 days Jenny states.

For the Metabolic Max program, clients have three days from receipt of the BodyMedia Fit Armband to cancel. And a refund isn’t issued unless the Armband has been returned.

Clients also have the right to cancel due to death, disability, or relocation. In the event of death, all membership fees paid are refunded to client’s representative. In the event of disability, a physician’s letter stating your physical condition and explaining why you’ll be unable to use Jenny’s services is required. But if your disability will last less than 6 months, Jenny may, in lieu of cancelling your membership, extend it by 6 months. In the event you move over 50 miles away and you cannot transfer your membership to an existing Jenny center, you also may cancel. However, penalty to cancel due to relocation is $50-$100.

Important to note, regardless of the type membership or reason for cancelling, all food and supplements purchased through Jenny Craig and all shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.

Consultants: When joining you are told you will have your own consultant, but you are not guaranteed to have the same consultant throughout your weight loss program. If you are participating in the online Jenny Craig program it may be difficult to get in touch with a consultant, expect to play phone tag.

Food Delivery: If you are not available to accept your food upon delivery, your frozen items will be packed on special ice packs and placed inside an insulated bag to keep your foods frozen for approximately four-six hours. If you live near a Jenny Craig Center, you can save the delivery fee by picking up your food at the center.
