You can burn up to 100 extra calories per day by drinking ice-cold liquids instead of room temperature beverages. Taking the freezing cold liquid into your stomach forces your metabolism has to rev up in order to keep your core temperature from falling.
Now here’s the bad new. It takes A LOT of ice water to burn the full 100 calories, but if you’re game to try, here’s the way to drink it:
Morning: 1 quart of ice water during a thirty-minute period
Noon: 1 quart of ice water during a thirty-minute period.
Late Afternoon or Early Evening: 1 quart of ice water during a thirty-minute period.
An extra bonus is that if you do this before or during meals, you’re almost guaranteed to eat less.
The downside? Drinking this much water means that you’d better have convenient access to a rest room!
