South Beach Diet Day 26 - Cravings

Today's South Beach Diet Tips:

* Trader Joe’s has just as much diet-wrecking fare as a KFC.

* Remind yourself of the long-term reasons you want to stick to this lifestyle or you’ll lose your willpower once you reach your vanity goal.

* After a month of healthy South Beach plan eating, the program promises that cravings will melt away like lemon drops. Well, I'm on Day 26, and the cravings haven't melted yet.

And now, here are the details of my 26th day on the South Beach Diet...

What I Weighed Today: 192 lbs. (8am)

You never know just how you are doing on a diet until you have to go into a food store or restaurant. I had to go into Trader Joe's today. I only went in to get some salmon for my salad but lawd have mercy!! I wanted to scream. I kept looking at things I wanted and wondering what I could get away with.

Looking back on it, there were plenty of things I could have gotten for myself that would have been on program. I could have picked up some fun veggies or egg salad or even a little fruit. But I didn't want that. I wanted those Low-Fat Cheese Puffs, White Cheddar Popcorn, Black Licorice Scotty Dogs, Puff Pastry with Gruyere Cheese and Carmelized Onions.

The worst part of my Trader Joe's torture? They were cooking some garlic rice dish and handing out samples. You could smell the garlic as soon as you walked in the door. I wanted to not want it, I've managed to be completely uninterested before but today I was not that lucky. I wanted it all! And I'm reliving now as I write this, and I want it all over again!!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: South Beach Caramel Peanut Crispy Meal Bar, Starbucks Iced Venti Skinny Caramel Latte
Lunch: South Beach Chocolate Peanut Butter Crispy Meal Bar
Snack: Large Bowl of Cucumbers, 20 cashews
Dinner: Salmon Salad w/Girard's Light Girard’s Light Champagne Dressing
Snack: 2 Fat Free JELL-Os

EXERCISE:
None
