Slim FastSlim Fast was the easiest diet I used. I have to admit that I miss that. The basic format of this diet is that you replace two meals a day with Slim Fast meal replacement shakes or bars. You are allowed a mid morning and mid afternoon snack. Then you eat a healthy, balanced dinner. I used the Slim Fast online tools for weekly weigh-ins. This helped me tremendously in the beginning. I would get an e-mail each week reminding me to weigh in. These weigh in reminders had the same effect that Weight Watchers meetings have - it kept me on track, and if I had fallen off track, it got me back on track...because I didn’t want to weight in at a higher level! Hint: You can sign up for the slim fast online tools, no matter what diet you are following! After doing South Beach for several months, I cannot stand the sweetness of Slim Fast products. Slim Fast products are loaded with sugar, so I cannot recommend them. UPDATE: Slim Fast has revised their formula to have 45% less sugar than their original shakes. My daughters like to have them for breakfast sometimes. I still think they are too sweet and don’t have enough protein. However, if you try slimfast and it works for you... I say go for it. I think South Beach is a better longterm lifestyle solution; but if Slim Fast can get you started down the right path like it it did for me, then that’s great. |
