Oprahs Weight Loss Plan Print E-mail
Thursday, 17 February 2005

I watched Oprah's Weight Loss Plan show on 2/14/2005. On the show, Oprah led a weight loss boot camp with 4 of her staff members, putting them on the same 12 week diet plan that she uses herself. The plan was developed by Bob Greene, author of the book, Bob Greene's Total Body Makover.

Some of the main points of the diet:

  • Eliminate the white stuff?bread, pasta, potatoes, rice?as well as candy, pastry, cookies, cake.
  • You must stop eating three hours before bedtime. Do just this, Oprah says, and you'll lose weight.
  • Exercise 8 times per week...(that's a lot)!

I totally agree with these things, especially the cutting out the refined carbs and not eating anything in the evenings. Those two things really help me in my own diet efforts. I think this is a great plan.

If the exercise sounds like too much, just start out slowly with a simple walk each day or every other day. If you read my entire diet story, you'll see that I lost 60 pounds without any exercise at all. After that, I hit a weight loss plataue and had to start exercising to lose more weight. That worked, and now I am an exercise junkie!
